TikTok Shop to charge sellers P5 fee starting Dec. 1

Fast-growing e-commerce platform TikTok Shop is joining Shopee and Lazada in charging an additional P5 “order processing fee” starting Dec. 1.

- By RAINIER ALLAN RONDA

In an email to their sellers on Nov. 14, TikTok Shop said that the imposition of the additional fee was to allow “enhancements (that) lay the foundation for sustainable growth and allow the improvement of the overall shopping experience.”

“The Order Processing Fee is fixed at P5 per order (tax inclusive), regardless of the number of items or the total order value,” TikTok Shop said in their email advisory.

To cushion the impact of the new fee on their sellers, Tiktok Shop will initially charge a lower fee of P3 on Dec. 1, until further notice.
