No human remains found at 5 sites in Dharmasthala

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday did not find human remains in any of the four sites it exhumed and that were shown by the whistle-blower in the Dharmasthala mass burial case.

Around 12:30 pm, the SIT resumed digging at a hilly forested area close to the Nethravathi bathing ghat in Dharmasthala village in Belthangady taluk. SIT chief Pronab Mohanty along with DIG MN Anucheth visited the spot amid rain around 4:30 pm.

On the first day of exhumation on Tuesday, too, the SIT had returned empty-handed as no human skeletal remains were found at the first site identified by the whistleblower, though it was dug for almost 8 feet depth and 15 feet width.
