Amid Trump tariff, Navy Chief to meet US Dept of War head

CHIEF of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on ‘Wednesday embarked on a sixday official visit to the United States, amid the ongoing tariff tussle.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence (MoD), “The visit aims to further strengthen the robust and enduring maritime partnership between the Indian Navy and the United States Navy, a key pillar of the IndiaUS Defence Partnership.”
During the visit, the CNS is scheduled to hold discussions with senior officials of the US Department of War. He will also meet Admiral (Adm) Samuel J. Paparo, Commander, United States Indo-Pacific Command, and Adm Stephen T Koehler, Commander, United States Pacific Fleet, besides other senior naval leaders and dignitaries.
