PLYMOUTH MP Johnny Mercer has called the UK's new Prime Minister Liz Truss a liar, in a scathing newsletter sent out to city constituents.
The former British Army officer and ex-Under-Secretary of State for Defence People and Veterans has even hinted his stint as a politician may at some point come to an end, in a fierce statement issued on Monday.
The 41-year-old was sacked as veterans minister by Ms. Truss when she took power at the start of September.
The Tory MP said at the time he was "disappointed" to leave the Government but remained "committed as ever" to his Parliamentary duties for the Moor View constituency.
Mr Mercer said it was time for others to step up and that he will be spending time with his family over the break. In a statement at the time, Mr. Mercer said he felt proud of what he had achieved in seven years of politics.
