Sadness as vegan cafe shuts down

A VEGAN cafe in Plymouth has announced closure due to increasing costs and declining footfall. Regular customers have said they are devastated and heartbroken to see the business close - today is the final day of trading.

The owners of the Power Plant Cafe on Cornwall Street have said the announcement, posted on their Instagram page, is made with a "heavy heart".

The vegan cafe opened in 2019 and has been a popular cosy spot, but the owners have said they've reached the point where they "cannot afford to stay open any longer".

Customers have said they are "gutted" at the "terrible news" describing the closure as a real loss to the city. One regular at the cafe, posting on Instagram, said "Plymouth is losing its best vegan cafe."
