Meetings cancelled as Tigers take a beating

THERE will be no speedway involving Teesside clubs this coming weekend due to contrasting factors outside of either Redcar Bears’ or Middlesbrough Tigers’ control.
Friday's scheduled Championship encounter against trans-Pennine rivals Workington has been postponed as the Cumbrian club has had its license suspended by the sports’ controlling body - the BSPL - due to “administrative irregularities”.
The nature of the issues and length of time the Comets are likely to be out of action is unknown but Agilia Bears co-promoter Jamie Swales said: “I'm not massively concerned as I think it’s an internal administration issue which needs to be resolved.
“I don’t think it’s a financial thing which will cause a problem for the full season.”
Middlesbrough's National Development League match at Belle Vue on Sunday has also been put back as the Aces - the Manchester Club's main concern - have brought forward a Premiership encounter with Birmingham and did not wan to run on successive days.
