RAIL MISHAP A BANE FOR SOME & BOON FOR SOME

Amid multiple reports of airlines increasing their fares abnormally (after the mishap), the aviation ministry took note of it and advised flight operators to ensure a strong vigil over the abrupt increase in airfares. Some passengers in distress even took the social media route to complain about the abnormal increase in air tickets. Sharing screenshots of travel portal and websites, passengers claimed airlines have increased their fares manifold.

Sutanuka Bose who had initially planned to travel to Chennai for her father’s treatment was forced to purchase an over-priced air ticket as the doctor’s appointment could not be deferred.

“We had to book flight tickets to Chennai as the doctor's appointment was fixed and in case of cancellation, we would have to wait for months to get another appointment. He had to spend a fortune to get the tickets,” said Sutanuka.
