A day ahead of her appearance before the Enforcement Directorate in the excise scam case, Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC and Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao's daughter K Kavitha on Friday launched a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in the national capital demanding the introduction of the Women's Reservation Bill in the current budget session of Parliament. The sit-in dharna was attended by opposition parties and women organisations from across India in support of the bill. Addressing the gathering, Kavitha said: "If India needs to develop at a speed the world is developing, women should play a key role in politics.
