Litmus test as Lalu tries to outplay Lalan Singh

Former JDU president and MP from Munger Rajiv Ranjan Singh aka Lalan Singh is hopeful of sailing through the Lok Sabha election on the back of 'Modi's popularity' and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's development initiatives even as RJD chief Lalu Prasad is striving hard to block his path to the victory through caste politics.

Singh is pitted against the wife of a muscleman and RJD candidate Anita Kumari Mahto. Like other sitting NDA MPs, Singh is facing an anti-incumbency, primarily due to his inaccessibility but it will be interesting to see if people's anger translates into votes for his rival and RJD candidate. Munger goes to polls in Phase 4 on Monday.
