Gautrain's 'Kleva' to ease travel costs

Gautrain management has unveiled a new discount fare product, dubbed KlevaMova, which is aimed at making public transport more affordable for low-income earners.

The initiative offers a 50% reduction in train fares for qualifying individuals and forms part of the government's broader strategy to reduce the financial burden of travel in South Africa's economic hub, Gauteng.

Gauteng transport MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela said she was pleased to announce the move "that Gautrain train fares will now be more affordable".

She emphasised the importance of affordable and accessible public transport in reducing the cost of living, particularly for those living far from economic centres.
