Prime accused Unnikrishnan Potti arrested in Sabarimala gold 'theft' case

The Kerala High Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged misappropriation of gold-plated copper moulds used to adorn the stone carvings and sculptures at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple has arrested Unnikrishnan Potti, the prime accused in the case.
The arrest, made early on Friday, marks the first in the high-profile investigation that has sparked widespread political turmoil and protests by the Opposition, demanding the resignation of Devaswom Minister V. N. Vasavan and Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president P S. Prasanth.
