JUNIOR'S HIBS SENIOR BUT IS TAKING A LEAD
Sunday Mail
|October 26, 2025
JUNIOR HOILETT is starting to feel his age - but only because he is now the oldest player in the Hibs squad.
After Dwight Gayle hung up his boots in the summer, the Canadian forward is now the elder statesman in Leith at 35.
Aplayer who graced the English topflight in his prime, Hoilett now gets as much satisfaction helping the younger generation by passing on valuable advice.
He’s also driven by the dream of representing his country as they host the World Cup next summer.
But there is no doubt that Hoilett has one eye on a future away from the game and potential move into coaching.
Hoilett said: “As a player you know what you can bring to the table and what youcan provide to help the team and help individuals on a day-to-day basis too. That's what I'm here to do.
“I'm here to lead by example and improve not only myselfbut individuals, young boys, and help the team get results.
