CCTV showed claims victim 'tripped' was lie
A MAN yesterday admitted killing a father - by pushing him in front of an ambulance answering a 999 call.
Lewis Budge, 22, attacked Robert Bromell at the Corran Esplanade in Oban, Argyll, on September 6, 2023.
The pair had left a pub when kitchen porter Budge shoved him towards the road.
Mr Bromell suffered fatal injuries when the ambulance struck him.
Budge later lied that Mr Bromell had “stumbled” in front of the vehicle as they walked down the street.
But he was snared after CCTV captured him laying hands on the victim moments before the tragedy.
Budge had been due to stand trial accused of Mr Bromell’s murder. However, he pleaded guilty at the High Court in Glasgow to the reduced charge of culpable homicide.
