Start next season without a title to defend? Not on Pep's watch if he can help it

PEP GUARDIOLA said he and his team would not deserve a bonus even if they won the Club World Cup and prize money of around £100million.

"Not even a watch," he added.

Which would not bother Guardiola because he has a fine collection of watches already.

In fact, if you are interested in these things, the timepiece on his wrist for Friday's media conference is valued at well over £1million.

It is a Richard Mille RM 61-01, a limited-edition watch (right) of which there are believed to be only 150 in existence.

It is made from something known as TZP ceramic, something known as carbon TPT and titanium.

Apparently, it is one of the lightest mechanical watches ever made and Rafael Nadal also has one.

Perhaps Pep has some sort of deal with Richard Mille, a Swiss watchmaking company - he certainly brandished their pride and joy enough while chatting.

But even if he doesn't, Guardiola can afford the odd expensive watch, obviously. Indeed, he could afford to live a life of luxury without ever taking another coaching session.

He certainly does not need the stress that seems to be coming with his Manchester City gig right now.
