Jeremy dazzles like Diego as Pep marks milestone in style
PEP GUARDIOLA clocked up a milestone while leaving Arne Slot with a millstone instead following this crushing defeat for his champions at the Etihad.
Guardiola celebrated his 1,000th game as a manager with the perfect result, winning thanks to goals from Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez and the fabulous Jeremy Doku.
But while the Spaniard was left feeling grand, Slot resembled someone heaving around the burden of knowing that his Liverpool side look incapable of defending their title.
This was Liverpool's fifth league defeat in their last six outings, including four in a row on their travels for the first time since 2012. Forget being in the title race, because Slot's side are not even in the chasing pack at this stage.
On Remembrance Sunday, it felt like City had signalled the Last Post in terms of Liverpool's chances of remaining kings of English football.
City were outstanding from start to finish and could even afford to see Haaland miss a first-half penalty.
