Dhananjay Munde not in list; Shinde gets Mumbai city and Thane
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government on Saturday announced the appointment of guardian ministers for the state's 36 districts. While deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde is the guardian minister of Mumbai city and Thane, the Mumbai suburban district has been allotted two guardian ministers-Ashish Shelar and Mangal Prabhat Lodha.
In a significant development, NCP minister Dhananjay Munde, who is under a cloud after the Beed sarpanch murder case, has not been reappointed guardian minister of Beed or any other district.
Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar has taken charge of Beed along with Pune. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken up the responsibility of the Maoist-affected Gadchiroli district.
