Sr IAS officer arrested in J'khand liquor case

The Jharkhand anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested 1999 batch IAS officer and panchayati raj secretary Vinay Kumar Choubey as well as joint commissioner of the excise department Gajendra Kumar Singh in connection with alleged excise irregularities in the state, officials said.

Both Chowbey and Singh were produced before the court of ACB special judge Yogesh Kumar, which sent them to Birsa Munda Central Jail for 14 days of judicial custody, officials familiar with the matter said.
