Row Erupts Over Guv's Report To Centre On Riots In Murshidabad

A political row erupted in West Bengal on Sunday over Governor CV Ananda Bose's report to the Centre on the recent riots in Murshidabad district stating that the violence was "premeditated" and suggested imposition of President's Rule if the situation deteriorated, with the ruling Trinamool Congress terming the report "politically motivated" while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hailing it.

In the report, sent earlier this week to the Union home ministry, Bose recommended permanent BSF camps in sensitive areas of Murshidabad and Malda districts, located near the Bangladesh border, people aware of the report said.
