BLACK WARRANT
Crime dramas on OTT...err, rather crime dramas have become OTT. The reason? The barrage of fiction and non-fiction content from this genre on the medium. So, when an announcement about Black Warrant (which is another term for a death warrant) was made, I sighed. Of course, the cases explored might be different in every show, but it essentially comes down to a cop-and-fugitive chase everywhere, at the end of the day.
So, I was naturally surprised when I realised that this cop drama, created by Vikramaditya Motwane and based on the book by the same name (authored by Sunetra Choudhury and Sunil Gupta), instead uses ghastly criminal cases only in passing – such as the murder of siblings Sanjay and Geeta Chopra by Ranga-Billa from 1982.
