Jamie Vardy accompanies his wife Rebekah to court today where the libel trial was expected to hear from former England captain Wayne Rooney
JAMIE Vardy made a shock appearance by his wife's side at the Wagatha Christie libel trial on the final day of evidence, as former England teammate Wayne Rooney was set to give evidence.
The Leicester striker has been noticeably absent as wife Rebekah, 40, and Coleen Rooney, 36, have battled in the High Court over the last week.
Mrs Vardy left court early yesterday afternoon, but arrived for today's session with a suited Jamie in tow for the first time. Vardy scored twice in a midweek victory over Norwich last week and bagged another two goals on Sunday in a 5-1 defeat of Watford.
The two footballers, Rooney and Vardy, exchanged the briefest of nods across the courtroom before the hearing began. They were both in the squad for England's Euro 2016 campaign, which ended in a 2-1 defeat to Iceland, but have not played together since Rooney's international retirement.
