Putin could use WMDs in retaliation at Ukrainians' successes

A LEADING US diplomat fears Vladimir Putin will take drastic action as Ukrainian forces seize more territory from him...even fearing that he could use a weapon of mass destruction.

Rose Gottemoeller, a former deputy secretary general of Nato and an expert Russia watcher, said: "I have to say watching president Putin and his coterie very closely, I fear that they will strike back now in really unpredictable ways, in ways that may even involve weapons of mass destruction."

A WMD is a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or any other weapon that can kill and bring significant harm.
