3 Brits among 7 charity staff killed | Gaza 'deadliest place for aid work

THERE TO HELP

THIS is the shattered wreck of a car hit by an Israeli airstrike that killed seven aid workers yesterday.

Three Brits James Henderson, 33, and John Chapman, 57, both former Royal Marines, and James Kirby were among the dead.

They were killed by blundering Israeli forces while taking food to starving kids.

It is believed Henderson and Chapman were working as security escorting the three-car aid convoy in central Gaza when it was blasted in a targeted airstrike by three missiles fired from a drone.

Australian Zomi Frankcom, 43, Pole Damian Sobol, a Canadian American and Palestinian driver Saif Abu Taha also died in the attack, which led one charity group to declare Gaza the deadliest place on the planet for aid workers.

Tributes were paid to the victims, alongside global condemnation of Israel over the deaths of the innocent charity staff who were working for non-profit outfit World Central Kitchen in a “deconflicted” zone.

They were in cars clearly marked in large stickers WCK.

Rishi Sunak branded the attack “appalling”and labour leader Keir Starmer said it was “unacceptable”.

The White House condemned the airstrike as “outrageous”.

But hardline Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu risked further fury when he dismissed the tragedy with a blunt “it happens in war” statement.
