I DIDN'T KNOW IF WE WERE GOING TO BE KILLED .. IT WAS HORRIFIC
Terror after violent mob of 300 'paedo hunters' drives innocent 'David and Shona out of home
A COUPLE have been forced to quit their home for a safe house after social media lies led to them being besieged by a violent mob.
David McLean, 37, was wrongly accused of being on the sex offenders register by vigilante group Exposed Britain.
A crowd attacked his home in Dumbarton and a riot broke out after the protest was live-streamed and the crowd to grew to about 300.
David and his wife, Shona, 35, cowered inside while the mob launched fireworks and bricks at their windows.
Some attacked riot cops and smashed up patrol cars.
Shona told how she feared she and David would be killed.
She said: "We were terrified, absolutely terrified. People were outside chanting 'dirty beast' and the crowd just got bigger, bigger and bigger.
"The police tried to get us out at the start, but the crowd gathered so quickly it wasn't safe to move us.
"We spent two hours inside listening to all of that. Fireworks and boulders were being thrown at the house. Cars were being kicked and smashed.
"I didn't know if we were going to be killed. It was horrific."
