A GIANT gorilla statue stolen from a garden centre has been found chopped in half in a lay-by - a year after it vanished.
Stunned road workers spottted eight-foot Gary the Gorilla dumped next to the A92 between Dundee and Arbroath.
However, it was just his "back end" that remained.
A nationwide man-hunt was launched last year after the £3000 fibreglass figure was swiped from Reynard Garden Centre in Carluke, Lanarkshire.
