A SCHOOLBOY was lured into a field and "beaten like a dog" in an attack that was filmed and posted on social media.
The sickening assault on the 13-year-old is the latest in a series of similar incidents to have taken place across Scotland.
Last night, the boy's family said they feared a child will die if nothing is done to curb the wave of violence which was highlighted by the Record last month.
The victim's 46-year-old uncle, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "My nephew was beaten like a dog and it will not be long before a child is killed.
"So what will it take before someone steps in to stop this violence among kids right now? "
Will it be when a kid hits the ground and dies? Or when a child takes their own life?
"The police can only do so much and their hands are tied with the problem.
"Does someone actually have to lose a child before something serious is done about this?"
The teen was attacked in Fort William by a gang of bullies while other youths looked on laughing and shouting, with some filming the assault.
Footage seen online shows the boy lying on the ground while he is repeatedly kicked and beaten on the head and body.
The family say the teen, who is a pupil at Lochaber High School, has been targeted by bullies at school for months.
