David Melleney and wife Megan's joy over 'amazing' daughter Lilah

The Yorkshire Vet's David Melleney has faced more than his fair share of medical dramas over the years.

Viewers of the hit Channel 5 show have watched him tackle everything from a complicated alpaca birth to sight-saving surgery on a cow.

But he admits being at his wife's side as she gave birth to their first child was a whole different ballgame.

Megan, 28, had daughter Lilah Rose in a birthing pool on May 19. David says of the experience: "[The midwife] let me sweep Lilah out of the water, which was pretty cool. I was nervous though. It's not like delivering a lamb or calf."

Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine, he adds: "She's been amazing so far. She's been sleeping and eating, but we've been warned that everything can change."

David, 32, and Megan, a dentist, married at Chateau du Doux in Dordogne, south-west France, in 2023, having met as graduates in 2017.

They both knew they wanted children but when Megan became pregnant it was during a tough time for her family.
