'I feel we've had to beg for justice'

A ROTHERHAM abuse survivor claimed yesterday that victims had been left to fight for justice for themselves.

Known as Liz, she was 14 when first targeted by Asghar Bostan, 55, a taxi driver, who was convicted of twice raping a child.

He was jailed for nine years in 2018 following a trial at Sheffield crown court for the attacks between 2000 and 2002.

The Mirror told how Liz, 39 and a mum, won an important victory for thousands of victims in 2023. She was awarded £425,000 from Bostan, released in 2022, in a ruling described as a warning to child rapists.
