A splendid final over from left-arm spinner Nimesh Vimukthi bowling to two left-hand batsmen saw Sri Lanka beat United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 21 runs to win the Bowl final at the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament in Mong Kok yesterday.
UAE required 28 runs off the final over and at 79-1, and with two well-set batsmen at the crease, were well within range of scoring those runs.
But Vimukthi bowled a brilliant final over, conceding just six runs and also picking up a wicket, to deny UAE the win and give Sri Lanka a consolation victory.
