Waspi hope as veto over cash payout is looked at

COMPENSATION for Waspi women is to be reconsidered by the Government because of undisclosed "evidence", the Work and Pensions Secretary revealed.

Pat McFadden told MPs yesterday the U-turn was over "evidence" which had not been considered by Liz Kendall, his predecessor in the role, in her initial decision.

He said: "We will retake the decision." But he added that the reconsideration did not mean compensation would be automatically paid out.
