AN Australian shepherd dog called Viking has been crowned by judges at Crufts as best in show.
The three-year-old from Solihull, in the West Midlands, beat 24,000 dogs from around the world over the last four days at Birmingham's NEC.
But last night's final threatened to be overshadowed by protesters who tried to reach the arena.
The small group - thought to have been Peta animal rights activists brandished a banner before security guards intervened. One managed to get through before being taken away.
