Vardy's messages were evil, Coleen tells libel court

Finishing her evidence in the High Court yesterday, Coleen, 36, added: "There's no need for it, I've never done anything to them.”

The case stems from a viral social media post in October 2019, in which Coleen said she had carried out a "sting operation”.

She then accused Rebekah, 40, of leaking "false stories about her private life to the press.

Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, denies this and issuing her fellow Wag for libel.

Mum-of-four Coleen, whose husband Wayne is manager of Derby County, is defending the claim on the basis her post was “substantially true”.

Towards the end of her cross-examination by Rebekah's barrister Hugh Tomlinson QC, Coleen was asked about the aftermath of her post and Rebekah's response.

The barrister said: "She makes it clear to you that it wasn't her, doesn't she?” Coleen replied: "She says she has zero interest in what's going on in my life, which I believe is totally untrue. She talks about me a lot...so that was a lie."

Mr Tomlinson then commented about Coleen being given the nickname "Wagatha Christie” by friends and the media.

She responded: "Yeah, which I just think is ridiculous.
