China ‘ready’ to host border peace talks

Beijing has reaffirmed its neutral stance, urging Thailand and Cambodia to resolve their border dispute through Asean principles and peaceful dialogue.

The Thai Journalists Association yesterday held its seventh “Understanding Modern China: What the Media Should Know” workshop in Bangkok.

Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech, attended by Norrinee Ruangnoo, president of the Thai Journalists Association, members of the association’s subcommittee, and representatives from both Thai and Chinese media.

Mr Zhang emphasised the enduring friendship between China and Thailand, noting that 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
