Farmers are backbone of Economy: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Emerges as Bharat's Food Basket with Record Agricultural Growth

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reaffirmed that farmers are true backbone of Madhya Pradesh's economy. He emphasized that their welfare remains the government's foremost priority.

Madhya Pradesh's 'Annadata' Becoming 'Urjadata'

In a major announcement, the Chief Minister declared that farmers will now receive 90% subsidy for installing solar pumps. Earlier, farmers received only 40% subsidy.

He said, "If water reaches a dry field, the crop turns into gold. We will ensure water reaches every farm in the state. With solar pumps, farmers will be free from cost of temporary electricity connections."

Under the new provision, farmers will receive solar pumps with higher power capacity. A farmer eligible for a 3 HP electric pump will now receive a 5 HP solar pump, and those with 5 HP will receive a 7.5 HP solar pump.

Agriculture Contributes Over 39% to State GDP

Dr. Yadav highlighted the significant contribution of farmers to the state's economy. Agriculture accounts for over 39% of Madhya Pradesh's GDP.
