Limited edition conjures images of bespoke and bejewelled items that are pretty but pricey. However, when IKEA, famous for its democratic design, announces this—alarm bells start ringing. For this signals unique designs and playful elements that are not heavy on your wallet. It also means if you don’t get to them timely, they will be off the shelf before you know it.
IKEA’s 2024 collection, TESAMMANS, a burst of colour, conceptualised along with Christoph Brach and Daniera ter Haar from Dutch design studio Raw Color, is one such limited edition beauty. “This is the first time we have collaborated with IKEA, it started during COVID when we were all a bit isolated and at home,” says Brach, adding, “It took three years for it to complete.”
