Yamaha's FG Series has been around since the mid-60s and has secured a reputation as a range of modestly priced acoustic guitars that don't wander too far north of the £500 price point. Until now, that is. Readers who are used to thinking that FGs are beginners' instruments might have raised an eyebrow or two looking at the price of the FG9M. But there's a twist to the tale as Yamaha has upped the spec here to a pretty significant degree.
