The design of the Hero 12 is like-for-like the same as its predecessor, the Hero 11. Same dimensions, same weight, same sensors, same displays, same everything. It's hard to better perfection and this is as good as it gets.

But don't panic, there is something new: the 1/4-20 mounting thread. Positioned between the two folding fingers at the bottom of the action camera, the new mounting option allows for more accessories to be used with the GoPro Hero. To drive the message home, GoPro launched a 48-inch-long extension pole that collapses to just 10 inches alongside the new cam, designed to work with the new mounting threads.
