Over the last three decades, Alan Partridge has gone from cult favourite to national treasure and he's returning to BBC1 for a six-part comedy series this week.

As we rejoin the hapless radio DJ and TV presenter, played by Steve Coogan, he's back in his beloved Norfolk after a year working in Saudi Arabia.
