Rajkumar Santoshi's daughter TANISHA SANTOSHI has made her debut with her father's Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh. SUMAN SHARMA talks to the newcomer

Rajkumar Santoshi did not want to cast his daughter Tanisha Santoshi for his new film Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh. He was convinced only after she auditioned for a role. Talking about how she got the role, the debutante narrates, "I heard the narration one day at home and I was just blown away by the idea itself. I didn't know that there was a role for a girl in the film. But then I heard Sushma's character, and even though it's not like a huge character, she offers something to the narrative. That's something that really excited me because honestly just getting to perform is a big thing." Her character Sushma works for Mahatma Gandhi in the film. She's the personification of Gandhiji's helpers, Manu and Abha. She has an active role in the film and her character is seen as a catalyst in it.
