The Hollywood star has kept her controversial beliefs well hidden from the public gaze

Salma Hayek and Tom Cruise go way back, both as professional colleagues and old friends. And an exclusive investigation by Woman’s Day reveals they have more in common than at least one of them is letting on.

Tom is famously – or rather, infamously – and openly known to be the Church of Scientology’s second-in-command: its celebrity face that is hero-worshipped by fellow members and relied upon to bring in more followers.

But it’s a little-known fact that Salma is similarly involved with a controversial house of worship, Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment – which denies it’s a new-age religion, although it has widely been described as such.

“Salma is the Tom Cruise of Ramtha,” says an insider. “She is used as the highest example of what Ramtha can do for its followers, and occasionally personally addresses the congregation either in person or by video.”
