The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the much-awaited owners of the two new Indian Premier League (IPL) teams. Sanjiv Goenka’s RPSG Ventures Ltd won the bidding for the Lucknow franchise at a price of INR 7090 crore. Irelia Company Pte Ltd. (CVC Capital Partners) got the Ahmedabad franchise for INR 5625 crore. After the announcement of the two new franchises, the BCCI also confirmed that the IPL 2022 season will feature a total of ten teams. As many as 74 matches will be played and each side will play 7 home and 7 away matches. Following the announcement of the new teams, fans are wondering who the captains of the team could be.
