BJP demands debate on civic issues, AAP hits back

Accusing the Aam Aadmi Party of levelling “baseless and fabricated” charges against the corporations, BJP on Friday challenged its leaders for a public debate on the issues related to the civic bodies.

New Delhi: Addressing a press conference, BJP also alleged that AAP councillors asked for bribes from corporation employees working in their municipal wards.

Reacting to the allegation, AAP’s MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak said AAP was borne out of a movement and there was no tolerance against corruption in the party. “AAP has decided to immediately expel the three municipal councillors caught asking for bribes in a sting operation. We hope that the investigating agency will take strictest action against them,” Pathak said.
