“As per police records, Sofi has been active from June 2019. He is figured among the list of most-wanted militants in the Valley. He is part of groups involved in attacks on security establishments and in civilian atrocities to which several cases have already been registered against him,” a police official said.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar termed the killing of Sofi as a “big success”. With the killing of Jaish commander, eight militants and 5 security men have been killed in six gunfights in J&K in the last 72 hours.
