After an hour of last week’s clash with Melksham Town, all things rosy with his side 3-0 up and seemingly in complete control.
Football has a habit of changing very quickly, though, and come fulltime, Hobbs could not hide his anger after seeing his side throw away that lead and lose 4-3 as they capitulated in spectacular style.
Needless to say, a few home truths were said post-match with the Parkway boss visibly furious with what he saw. The worry for Hobbs is that similar happened at Bristol Manor Farm only a couple of weeks previously, so he will not tolerate it happening again when his side travel to Evesham tomorrow.
“When you have a result like that, you want a game on Tuesday night,” Hobbs said. “It’s felt like a very long week and even the wait for training on Wednesday night felt a very long time, so we could nip it in the bud.
“But we trained really well, we had a good chat in the dressing room afterwards and identified things in a more calm and controlled manner. Obviously the dressing room last Saturday was a very emotional one, so it was more considered last night where everyone had their say and it wasn’t shouting and hollering in the heat of the moment.
