A MULTI-academy trust which has been acquiring some of Plymouth's largest schools more than doubled its “profit" to £3 million last year.
The company accounts for Greenshaw Learning Trust (GLT) show it made a surplus of £3.119 million in the year to the end of August 2021 up from £1.382 million in 2020.
The Surrey-headquartered trust contains 21 schools, with clusters in Gloucester and the Forest of Dean and elsewhere. In 2021, it added Plymouth, taking on Stoke Damerel Community College, Scott Medical and Healthcare College, and Montpelier Primary School in January. It is planning to add Sir John Hunt Community Sports College in early 2022, after a wrangle over the campus delayed its transfer.
