Dental Crisis Must Be Fixed, Say MPs

DEVON MPs have backed a call for government action to solve the NHS dental crisis which has led to people pulling out their own teeth at home.

The difficulty getting an NHS appointment was highlighted during a debate in the House of Commons.

Plymouth MP Luke Pollard said almost 4,000 children in the city had had teeth removed under anaesthetic in the year before the pandemic.

The Labour MP for Sutton and Devonport said: “We won’t solve this crisis until children get to keep their teeth in their mouths, through better oral health.
