MATEJ VYDRA has revealed how his baby daughter eased the pain of being a bit-part player at Burnley.

Czech international striker Vydra is finally staking a claim for a regular place.

Playing second fiddle to Sean Dyche’s favoured front men Ashley Barnes and Chris Woods since his £11million arrival from Derby almost three years ago is no fun.

With Barnes recovering from a thigh injury, Vydra, 29 next month, has started the last six games.

And Vydra credits his toddler for keeping frustrations at bay while battling to win manager Dyche’s trust.

Vydra said: “I have a 15-month-old daughter Vanesa, so I can’t be frustrated every time at home because I’m not in the team.
