Trocaire's Somalia country director Paul Healy and the agency's programme manager in Malawi, Conor Kelly, say it's mothers who can't breastfeed their babies because of hunger and drought, little girls made child brides and children put to work that are suffering most.
With COP26 on the horizon, calls for the global north to provide real help are intensifying with charities like Trocaire among those shouting loudest.
Mr Healy, 63, said: "The impacts of what we do in Ireland are literally having an impact of the very lives and the survival of communities that I work with... and it's appalling.
