Shane Lynch has revealed despite Boyzone’s clean-cut image they all liked to hit the bottle.
The No Matter What singer admitted the Irish boyband “loved a party” and he would drink from 11am every morning, using it as a form of “escapism”.
The 44-year-old also said he used partying as a “crutch” within the “pressure and depression fuelled” music industry.
Boyzone were formed in Dublin by X Factor judge Louis Walsh in 1993 but split seven years later, reforming in 2007 and last performing in 2019.
Lynch’s fellow group members included Ronan Keating, 43, who went on to have a successful solo career, Keith Duffy, 46, Michael Graham, 48, and Stephen Gately, who died in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition, aged 33.
