HORNBY shares were fast-tracked today amid signs that investors think the model railways firm has enjoyed strong Christmas trading.
Even though there was no trading update from the Scalextric and Airfix owner, the shares still jumped 17% or 7p to 48.5p to their highest level seen since the summer.
The rally for the AIM-listed stock eclipsed the gains seen elsewhere on the London market, with airlines including easyJet and Wizz Air among those 9% higher in the FTSE 250 index.
