Those who shed pounds through the reward scheme, perhaps by deciding to fry another day and using their licence to grill, can also get their hands on gym passes and shopping vouchers.
They will be given a fitness tracker linked to an app that encourages them to increase their step count and eat more fruit and veg.
The government pilot could be expanded across the country if it proves to be a success.
